Sperm cryopreservation is also available at Jetanin hospital. The frozen sperm can be kept in liquid nitrogen at -196°C for longer than 10 years. This service is provided for some cases that may not be able to provide a sample on the day of the egg collection. Under these circumstances a semen sample may be frozen prior to the procedure and used on the day of egg collection. Some cases decided to do vasectomy but still need to have spare frozen sperm for future use or they may have to undergo some kind of radiation therapy so they also can have their sperm frozen. However ,
it should be noted that sperm activity is likely to deteriorate with the freezing and thawing process and fresh sperm is always preferable, if possible.

Stimulation of the ovaries often leads to excess embryos which cannot be transferred in the same treatment cycle. In standard IVF program ,
a maximum of three embryos will be transferred in each cycle. Depending on the quality of the spare embryos , they may be frozen for embryo transfer at a later date. The embryos are stored in liquid nitrogen at -196°C . At that temperature there has been no evidence of deterioration over time but we are allowed to keep the frozen embryos for no more than 5 years. A fee is charged to cover the cost of the freezing procedure and the embryo storage charge is reviewed annually for embryo remaining in storage which we will notify you every year. It is very important that you inform us of any changes to your address or telephone number while your embryos are in storage at our center.
If we are unable to contact you following the completion of your consented storage period , your embryos will have to be discarded.
